Important Recital Information

& Frequently Asked Questions!

What does my $80 recital fee include?

Recital fee includes: Video Download of Performances, 2 tickets to the dress rehearsal, 4 tickets to the recital. All fees are non-refundable. All fees must be paid in full prior to receiving your recital tickets and your dancer performing in recital.

Are blocking, dress rehearsal & recital mandatory?

Yes!! All of the rehearsals we have are extremely important so dancers are comfortable on stage and can perform at their all time best!

Is my dancer in every show?

No, all routines will be broken up into 4 different recital shows. Although we tried our best to accommodate every dancer and/or family into a single show slot, your dancer may be in multiple shows due to the number of classes they take. Please reach out to us directly if you have any questions!

Am I allowed backstage during the shows?

No, only backstage volunteers, stage moms, dancers and staff are permitted backstage during the show. Please consider volunteering to help us! However, if you are more comfortable with changing your dancer personally, please make us aware and we can help arrange something!

How should my dancer come dressed?

Dancers must come dressed in their first costume, tights with their hair and makeup already done!

How should my dancer's hair and makeup for Dress rehearsal & Recital be?

Makeup is necessary to avoid a washed-out look under the bright stage lights. Please use the followings as a guide: Use RED All-Day Lip Color Lipstick, use Base and Powder to match skin tone, use Eye Shadow (Earth Tone Shades) - use base color over lid, then darker in the crease, use Eyeliner & Mascara (Black) - use on upper and lower eyelid, use Blush (red) – use to accent cheek bones.

For safety purposes, ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY is permitted. This includes earrings, bracelets, watches, rings, necklaces.

Please be sure to have your child’s hair in a slicked back bun unless the teacher has requested something different. Headpieces should have elastic attached to them and be securely fastened with bobby pins!

What if my dancer has multiple dances?

  • Dancers should arrive dressed in their FIRST dance costume.

  • Everything should be LABELLED and placed in one hanging bag (including shoes). Put the hanging bag into a labelled laundry basket. When your dancer changes, they can put everything into their laundry basket so nothing gets lost!

  • Upon checking in to the dressing room assigned to your FIRST performing dance, you will find your dancer's assigned seat. At their seat, it lists their dances in order of the show. If your dancer has a RED tag at their seat, you must bring their costume to the backstage quick change area.

  • No one will miss their dance! We have a checklist for each dance to ensure that ALL dancers will be onstage!

Where do I pick up my pictures and recital t-shirts?

Class picture orders should be available for pick up during our last week of in-studio classes. Pictures and T-Shirt orders will also be passed out during our mandatory blocking rehearsal at Villa Maria College.

Will there be flowers and snacks available to purchase?
